Photothermolysis (meaning light + heat + destruction) refers to the precise focussing of a specific wavelength of laser light on a target area with a specific colour e.g. red as in spider veins. The laser energy produces enough heat to damage the target area whilst leaving the surrounding area relatively untouched.
The images below show typical results after just 3 laser leg vein treatments. Results may vary depending on the severity and extent of the area being treated. Click the before & after images to view a larger version.
As with vein removal, laser treatment can also be used to target the pigment in the brown spots, rosacea and broken capillaries, eliminating them without affecting the surrounding skin. The image left shows a patient with facial spider veins. The image right shows the same patient after just 3 laser vein removal treatments.
